Roy Tatum, MP
Member of Parliament for Red Bay
Public Service & Leadership
Your Voice in Parliament: I was honoured to be elected as the Member of Parliament for the Red Bay Constituency in April 2025, as the People's Progressive Movement (PPM) candidate.
Since then, I have been working to improve infrastructure, strengthen community safety, support families and young people, and advocate for responsible government on behalf of the constituents of Red Bay.
In Parliament, I also serve on the Public Accounts Committee, the Youth Parliament Committee, and the Standing House Committee.
Decades of Political Leadership: Public service and community involvement have been an important part of my life for many years. For more than 20 years, I served as Vice Chairman of the PPM and remained actively involved in national politics, policy discussions, and community engagement.
Head of the Office of the Premier: From 2013 to 2021, I had the privilege of serving as Head of the Office of the Premier under then Premier Sir Alden McLaughlin. I worked closely with the Premier and the Government Caucus on national policy, governance, and international engagement on behalf of the Cayman Islands. This high-level work included constitutional discussions in the United Kingdom, regional coordination through CARICOM, and financial services engagement in the UK, Europe, and the United States.
Advisor to the Opposition: Following the 2021 General Election, I continued my public service as Executive Officer and Political Advisor to the Leader of the Opposition. Most of that time, I worked with the Hon. Roy McTaggart and later the Hon. Joey Hew.

Business & Financial Expertise
30+ Years in Cayman's Banking Industry: Before entering politics full-time, I spent more than 30 years working in Cayman's banking industry, including 13 years with Barclays Bank in Cayman Brac, Grand Cayman, and Anguilla, and 20 years with Butterfield Bank. My decades in banking have given me valuable experience in business and financial management, as well as a deep understanding of the economic realities facing Caymanian families and businesses.
National Recognition
The Certificate & Badge of Honour: In 2021, I was honoured to receive the Cayman Islands Certificate and Badge of Honour in recognition of my dedicated work with the government during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Community Commitment
Dedicated to Giving Back: Outside of politics, I have always believed strongly in giving back to the community. Over the years, I have volunteered with organisations and initiatives focused on healthcare, education, and young people. I served as Chairman of the Jasmine Hospice Care Board, was a member of the Immigration Appeals Tribunal, and supported programmes such as Junior Achievement and local school PTA activities.
A True Neighbour
Deeply Rooted in the Community: My wife Esther and I have lived in the Red Bay constituency for more than 25 years, where we raised our daughters, Sarah and Hannah. Red Bay is home to our family, and serving this community is both a privilege and a responsibility that I take seriously.
My Ongoing Commitment to You: As your Member of Parliament, I remain committed to being accessible, listening to residents, raising the issues that matter to you in Parliament, and working hard every day to help move our community forward.
